What is Psychotherapy

Every therapy session is unique and caters to your individual and specific goals. Each individual weekly session is 45-60. Therapy can be short-term, focusing on a specific issue, or longer-term, addressing more complex issues or ongoing personal growth. There may be times when you are asked to take certain actions outside of the therapy sessions, such as reading a relevant book or keeping records to track certain behaviors. It is important to process what has been discussed and integrate it into your life between sessions. For therapy to be most effective you must be an active participant, both during and between the sessions. I specialize in providing evidence-based interventions that are tailored to the individual needs of my clients  such as cognitive behavioral therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT).

Immigration Evaluations

For Individuals whose legal counsel has advised them to undergo a psychological immigration assessment.
Benefits

A psychological evaluation can make a world of a difference when filing for immigration benefits or when defending oneself from a deportation case. It may help substantiate the presence of trauma, persecution, or other factors that may warrant special consideration.  A psychological evaluation can provide insight into the consistency of their statements and behaviors, offering a more comprehensive view of their experiences. Beyond the legal context, an immigration psychological evaluation can serve as a resource for individuals to better understand their own mental health, coping mechanisms, and emotional needs. This self-awareness can contribute to their overall well-being.

What is An Immigration Evaluation
  • An immigration assessment is a psychological evaluation employed to aid immigration authorities in deciding an individual’s eligibility to legally reside in the United States. The primary aim of this assessment is to offer impartial psychological insights into an applicant’s mental health status and its potential relevance to their immigration matter. This assessment encompasses a comprehensive process, including an in-depth clinical interview and psychological testing, and results in a detailed evaluation report outlining the patient’s mental health profile.
  • I provide complete psychological evaluations for immigration purposes such as 601 waivers, U-visas, T-visas, VAWA, Asylum, Removal Proceedings, and Medical Certification for Disability Exceptions (N-648)

Evaluation for Medical Certification for Disability Exceptions Benefits of the service:

Benefits of the service:

The “Medical Certification for Disability Exceptions,” (N-648) is a form used in the United States immigration process. This form is used for applicants to seek an exception to the English and civics requirements due to a physical or developmental disability or mental impairment that has lasted, or is expected to last, 12 months or more. The N-648 form must be completed by a licensed medical doctor, doctor of osteopathy, or clinical psychologist who has examined the applicant and can attest to their inability to meet the language and civics requirements.

Explanation of what the service is:

This psychological assessment aims to ascertain whether an individual possesses a disability that hinders their capacity to fulfill the language and civics prerequisites essential for the naturalization procedure. This assessment involves a clinical interview, psychological testing, scrutiny of medical records, and supplementary data. Conducted as an impartial third party, the evaluation remains neutral in its judgment. It’s important to note that undergoing an immigration evaluation does not guarantee a favorable outcome.
